Little Wolves Basketball Program Earns Money for Garmann

Little Wolves basketball program, which is in its 4th year, offers an 8 week program for kids ages PreK through 4th Grade. The program is held Saturdays from 9:00 am until Noon. The program began on January 4th, but will be held again next year. The kids work on basic skills the first 3 weeks then have 5 weeks of playing games. The cost for the program is $50, which includes a jersey and their own basketball. Every year the program keeps growing, with this year bringing 190 kids to the program.

Not only does this program give the kids a chance to get out and be active, but they also help their participants. The teachers at the elementary school recently teamed up with the Little Wolves Basketball Program to do a Bake Sale to raise money for Karee Jo Garmann. Garmann is a 2nd Grader at Watford City Elementary School.  She has been in the Little Wolves basketball program for the last 2 years, but could not join this year because she got sick. Garmann has an extremely aggressive form of cancer, Pleuropulmonary Blastoma (PPB). Karee Jo, along with her parents Darlene & Cary, have been staying at the Ronald McDonald house, as Karee Jo is being treated at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital. Everyone wanted to let her know they have been thinking of her and that she is missed.  The bake sale raised $1086.00 for the family. If you would like to donate to the Garmann family, there is an account set up at the BNC Bank in Watford City under the Karee Jo Benefit Account. Donations may be dropped off or mailed to BNC Bank, Attn: Karee Jo Benefit Account at PO Box 764, Watford City, ND 58854.
