Sidney has been selected to host the 2013 Montana Federation of Swimmers State Swim Meet this summer. The State Meet will be August 3rd & 4th. The Sidney Tiger Sharks are the defending 2012 AA Swim Champions and have won the AA title 10 of the last 12 years.
Registration to be on the 2013 team will be April 2 & 3 from 5 to 7 pm, upstairs at the Richland Youth Hockey Arena. The season will begin June 1st and is open to children 4-18. The cost of registration is $40 for an individual swimmer or $70 for a family. All swimmers are also required to purchase a season swim pass from the City.
The swim team also has a program called Sharkpups. The program is for beginner swimmers who aren’t quite ready for competition. As swim team president, Don Garsjo, stated, “It’s a program we started a long time ago for the younger siblings.” An additional $20 per swimmer is charged for Sharkpups program and takes a limited amount of members, as it takes extra volunteers.
