12 members of the Sidney Tendo Tae Kwon Do and Judo School traveled to Billings to participate in the Karlo Fujiwara Memorial Invitational Martial Arts Tournament. This Tournament was hosted and directed by the instructor of the Martial Arts Academy of Billings and held at the Eastern Montana College Gym on Saturday, April 27th.
Competitors in Tae Kwon Do from Sidney and their results are as follows: Dylan Albrecht in the 6-year old orange belt division placed 3rd in forms and 2nd in sparring; Samuel Stephenson in the 10-year old orange belt division placed 3rd in forms and 2nd in sparring; Corey Christensen in the 6-year old green belt division placed 3rd in forms and 2nd in sparring; Trevor Green in the 7-year old purple belt division placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in sparring. Travis Green in the 10 year-old purple belt division placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in sparring; Hailey Christensen in the 11 and 12-year old black belt division placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in sparring; Sarah Turek in the 15 to 17-year old black belt division placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in sparring; Beau Tescher in the adult black belt division placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in sparring; David Albrecht in the adult black belt division placed 2nd in forms and 4th in sparring.
Competitors in Judo Randori, free fighting, from Sidney and their results are as follows: Shawn Daleske, a white belt in the 13-year old through adult placed 3rd; Casey Christensen, a brown belt in the 13-year old through adult division placed 2nd; Cody Daleske, a green belt in the adult heavy weight division placed 3rd. Due to limited number of competitors these divisions were divided by size rather than belt rank.
