Drinking Water Test Kits Available

The Richland County Sanitarian’s Office will be handing out drinking water test kits at the Trashy Tuesday event on Tuesday, July 16th.

Owners of private drinking water wells are encouraged to test their well for the presence or absence of coliform bacteria regularly. The presence of coliform bacteria in drinking water indicates potential contamination that may require treatment. Those who are connected to city water do not need to conduct water quality tests, as the city monitors water quality.

The Sanitarian’s Office will have free test bottles and information available from 3 to 7 at Trashy Tuesday at the ROI shop, located at 1100 Silurian Lane in Sidney. The water tests are processed by a certified laboratory for a small fee.
