This Week at the MonDak Heritage Center

Family Night Open House

Wednesday, July 24th, 6:00pm

We’ve had a lot of fun the past two weeks. The MonDak has hosted two sets of kid’s classes this summer. In this class, we’ve learned a variety of art skills in Watercolor, Sculpture, Drawing, and Mixed Media and in Acrylic/Tempera. We’ve spent time viewing exhibits, playing games, and making the most of the summer.

There will be an open house for both sessions on Wednesday, July 24th from 6-8pm, so be sure to come and check out your little artist’s work. We’re very proud of them!

FREE and open to the public at the MonDak Heritage Center.

Ranger Talk: Guns

Thursday, July 25 7pm - FREE

Join us Thursday, July 25 at 7pm for another Ranger Talk. This week will be a program from Ken Anderson.

Firearms of all shapes and sizes - everything from large caliber rifles to small pocket pistols - proved essential to Fort Union’s daily activities: trading, hunting, and personal protection. Find out what advantage trade firearms gave the Upper Missouri Tribes, including the Assiniboine. Also, see hands-on examples of firearms of the period.

This program is FREE and open to the public.

Dr. Ashcraft reported that he ran out of nearly all of his books during the Author Showcase Friday and Saturday’s Sunrise Festival of the Arts. If you still need a copy of one of his first two books, or you still haven’t got his new book, Side Effects, we have plenty at the MonDak! Come see us today for your copy. Doctor’s orders!
