Northeastern Arts Network Proudly Presents "Mark Twain's Diaries of Adam and Eve"

The Northeastern Arts Network proudly presents the first performance of the season on Tuesday, September 17th with Montana Repertory Theatre’s production of Mark Twain’s Diaries of Adam and Eve.

Montana Repertory Theatre brings to the stage Mark Twain’s humorous and touching account of the Creation Story, in an adaptation by Ron Fitzgerald. Directed by Andy Meyers, Artistic Director of the Fort Peck Summer Theatre, this three-person show stars Caitlin McRae, Jamie Parnell, and Ryan Luwe (who is also the company stage manager).

Go behind the scenes with confused Adam, enthusiastic Eve, and the “bitingly” funny Snake, in their first encounters with each other and the new world around them! This uproarious comedy continues the Rep’s tradition of presenting staged works by acclaimed writers to Montana students and communities.

Told in under 50 minutes, this production gives a contemporary slant to Twain’s famous satire on Adam and Eve’s experiences in the Garden of Eden. No attempt is made at historical or biblical accuracy; instead, Twain uses the occasion of the Creation to poke gentle fun at humankind’s foibles and foolishness.

Montana Repertory Theatre’s mission is to tell the great stories of our world to enlighten, develop, and celebrate the human spirit in an ever-expanding community. Each year they produce a professional national tour, traveling to rural and urban communities throughout the United States. Montana Repertory Theatre strives to present plays of high literary quality with strong entertainment appeal.

This production will be held at the MonDak Heritage Center at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets can be purchased at the door: adults $45, senior $40, and students $35. At the doors tickets are also available. For additional concert information contact Candy Markwald 406-488-4155 or Jill Hill 406-489-4304.

The Big Sky Series is made possible in part by the Montana Performing Arts Consortium Presenter Development Program which is supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Montana Arts Council, and a legislative grant from Montana’s Cultural Trust.
