Quilts and More To Give Away Sewing Machine In Honor of National 4-H Week

This fall is a very exciting time for sewers to go check out Quilts and More with their new sewing machines, and fun, fall fabrics! Also, in conjunction with 4-H week, the store is offering a drawing for a chance to win a 520 sewing machine to any 4-H member in the surrounding area who purchases fabric from their store.

Quilts and More, a local fabric store on the outskirts of Sidney, was opened in 1999 by owner Laura Van Hook and is now the largest fabric store in the area. The store is huge and every sewer’s dream, with wall-to-wall fabrics of every variety from western style, to seasonal, and beyond. In addition, they carry around 3500 bolts of cotton, flannel, wide backs, and minkee fabric, as well as many books, patterns, and notions.

And now for the first time, the store has expanded to make room for sewing machines. The machines are long lasting, quality machines, that are Necchi and Elna brand. They are carrying a wide variety of options for all budgets and sewing levels.

Also for the fall, the store is offering four different Adult Education classes in conjunction with the school at different times Tuesday through Thursday. Three of these classes are quilting classes and one is for purses, bags, and totes.

The drawing for the lucky 4-H winner will take place next summer at the Richland County Fair. However, it is not limited to Richland County members but to all members in the surrounding areas. The ladies at Quilts and More have a big heart for young sewers and have even had some 4-H clubs in the surrounding areas come out for some lessons. Vonnie Van Hook, employee at Quilts and More says, “We love to encourage kids to participate in 4-H, and this is one way to get them to look forward to their project.”

Quilts and More is located at 12653, County Road 352, Sidney. Their winter hours are 10:00am-5:00pm Tuesday through Thursday and 10:00am-3:00pm on Saturdays. They can be reached at 406-482-3366.
