Comment Sought on Montana Fishing Regulation Change

The Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission is seeking comment on a proposed change to the 2014 fishing regulations.

The proposed change is on Seeley Lake in the Western District where the bass regulation would go from catch-and-release to no limit. The change is in response to the recent discovery of the unauthorized introduction of smallmouth bass.

The proposed change will be ready for review and comment beginning October 15, 2013 on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov. Click “Public Notices.”

Comments can also be mailed to Don Skaar, Fish Management Bureau Chief, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, P.O. Box 200701; Helena, MT 59624-0701. Comments can be emailed to [email protected].

Comments must be received by Nov. 14. The F&W Commission is scheduled to take final action on this fishing regulation proposal on Dec. 12.
