Parade of Trees Auction in 11th Year

The 11th Annual Parade of Trees Auction and fundraiser planning is underway with the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County partnering with the Family Resource Center, the Sidney High School Key Club and Business Professionals of America to plan this year’s event. To carry on the tradition, the auction will take place the day after Thanksgiving; Friday, November 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Square Mall. Once again donors are being sought to decorate and donate any Christmas item such as trees, wreaths, garlands, center pieces, table runners, table cloths and stockings or any other Christmas decoration one wishes to create. Items can be placed at the mall starting November 4th and can continue to be set up through November 27th. As has been the custom, awards will be given to donors for Children’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best in Show, Most Unique, and Best Non-Tree Entry. Auction onlookers may vote for their favorite item during the week of November 18th-22nd Winners will be announced on the 22nd and receive an engraved plaque and have their picture in both local newspapers. The community is encouraged to come out and support this annual fundraising event as it directly benefits our local youth and area families.

A raffle will also take place with two large baskets of home-made baked goods being raffled off the evening of the auction. The annual fundraiser is conducted to support the Boys & Girls Club whose youth membership continues to grow substantially each year; in addition proceeds will also be used to support the local parenting classes for the Family Resource Center, as well as the Key Club’s service projects and BPA’s national convention.
