Mid-Rivers Launches First 4G Cellular Service in 12 Eastern Montana Communities

On Monday, December 9, 2013, Mid-Rivers Communications launched the first 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) wireless data coverage available in 12 communities across the eastern half of Montana. Wireless customers who began seeing LTE data speeds on their phones around this time in Baker, Broadus, Circle, Lindsay, Richey, Lambert, the Highway 201 West area outside of Sidney, Vida, Savage, Ashland, Alzada, and Hammond were receiving their 4G LTE signal from Mid-Rivers.

With data speeds 10 to 15 times faster than 3G wireless data, 4G LTE supports a wide range of applications including video chatting with family and friends, real-time multi-player gaming, watching mobile television in high definition, mobile workforce applications, VPN access and real-time video conferencing for businesses. The wireless customers of select Mid-Rivers roaming partners may already be able to access the Mid-Rivers 4G network. The faster 4G data speeds will be available to Mid-Rivers’ own wireless customers as soon as 4G phones and devices become available shortly after the first of the new year.

“We are excited to be able to offer this lightning-fast data coverage to our cooperative members. We are working hard to bring our customers top-rated 4G phones and other devices, accompanied by a new unbeatable nationwide calling plan,” stated Bill Wade, Mid-Rivers’ General Manager.

The new Mid-Rivers 4G plans will include nationwide access to 4G services on the country’s largest 4G network, as well as nationwide voice and texting services.
