Light a Life Campaign

This Christmas holiday will be very special for Klay and Stephanie Carroll’s family. Tristam, Abel and Aiden will celebrate their first Christmas at home. Last year at this time, the triplets had just survived a complicated birth, and the babies spent the holiday in the neonatal intensive care unit in Denver. That uncertain time, although stressful and scary, was a miracle in itself. Without the emergency surgery in Houston a few months prior, they may not have survived at all. There were many heroes in this story, including each of you. The Foundation for Community Care Angel Fund provided part of the family’s travel costs to Texas.

The Angel Fund helps local families with medical emergency assistance when they suffer from an illness or medical condition our local doctors feel would be best treated outside of the area. These families face worry, stress, and extreme financial burdens. The Angel Fund presents a tangible gift that represents the community’s support and helps to ease the financial burden during a family’s very serious healthcare crisis.

The true greatness of giving to the Foundation for Community Care’s Angel Fund isn’t necessarily your monetary donation; it’s your ability to get involved in the story of someone who needs your help. At one point or another in our own lives, we are all in need of a little help.

The Angel Fund brightened 28 families lives last year. With your help we can do more. When you make a gift to the Angel Fund, either a memorial gift or an honorary gift, we’ll send a special Light A Life card to whomever you request. For every gift, an angel will be put on display at Sidney Health Center, and a colored light will be hung on the tree outside the Foundation for Community Care. In addition, every Light A Life gift will be entered into a monthly drawing for a floral arrangement generously donated by Reese & Ray’s IGA.

Grandparents Colin & Teresa Livers asked that we send this message:

“We would like to extend a sincere thank you to each of you and remind you that what you do does make a difference in people’s lives.”
