Feb 16th is "Through With Chew" Week

Over 14% of Montana men use smokeless tobacco, a rate that is more than twice the national average. Also more concerning, 22 % of Montana high school males use smokeless tobacco. These Montanans are fifty times more likely to develop oral cancer than non-users.

It’s time to take back your good health and your life gentlemen by joining us for Through With Chew week. The Montana Quit Line is geared to help smokeless users quit through telephone counseling as well as pharmacological support.  Please go to the Quit Line website http://www.QuitMontana.com or call 1-800-QuitNow.

Another website you may find helpful is MyLastDip.com an online cessation resource for those who are addicted to smokeless tobacco. The Richland County Health Department also has free “Quit Spit Kits” to help you quit. Whatever it takes, just take the first step. Spit/Smokeless tobacco is still tobacco and it will kill you just as dead as cigarettes. For more information please call the MTUPP program at the Richland County Health Department at 406.433.2207.
