Rule Changes for Septic Installers

The Richland County Board of Health has adopted wastewater treatment system regulations that require septic installers to obtain a certification from the Richland County Health Department.

These regulations and study materials may be obtained from the Richland County Sanitarian, located at 1201 West Holly, Suite 1, in Sidney. The certification exam is based on these regulations and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality standards for waste water treatment systems. The applicant must achieve a grade of 85% or better to receive the certification. The cost of the exam and certification is $50. Certification is good for 1 year.

For questions or to obtain study materials, contact the Richland County Sanitarian at 406-433-2207.
