World-touring African Children's Choir will Leave You with a New Perspective on Life

An unforgettable performance awaits you. Two local churches: Lonsdale United Methodist Church in Sidney, MT and the New Hope Wesleyan Church in Williston, ND will be hosting an astonishing group of eighteen children, ages 9 to 11, as they perform a variety of traditional dances, sing gospels and cultural music and demonstrate an amazing drumming performance.

Tour leader, Nate Longstaff states, "I encourage everybody to step out of their comfort zone and come and watch these children perform. They will go away with a different perspective on life after seeing the hope and enthusiasm in these kids."

The African Children's Choir's fundraising organization is under the non-profit umbrella organization of Music For Life. Together these organizations take groups of children, many of which have lost one or both parents through disease, war or famine, and give them a chance to succeed by giving them the opportunity to be involved in the choir and by giving them an education that'll allow them to return to their homelands with tools and skills for bettering their future.

The African Children's Choir website says, "The primary goal of the Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the African Children's Choir Programs. The Choir's international educational endeavor provides unique training for the children."

While on tour, these children receive "2-3 hours of schooling per day along with 2-3 hours of rehearsing per day. This is comparable to a school day in Uganda. Once the children complete the year- long tour, they return to complete their schooling at an academy which is rated in the top 10% in their country," states Longstaff. "They are getting a great education."

A thunderous standing ovation follows nearly every performance as these children will melt your heart and leave you wanting more.

The performances are FREE to attend and are scheduled at 6:30pm at both locations.

**Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Lonsdale United Methodist Church, 205 3rd Ave SE in Sidney and **Friday, May 9 at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 1105 16th St. NW in Williston.

Donations will be accepted at each performance. In addition, please log on to http://www.africanchildrenschoir.com to find out how you or your organization can sponsor a child, the group, become a volunteer or be a host family to some of the children and their chaperones during their visit.
