The 1st Annual Richland County Above the Influence Dodgeball Tournament was a huge success this past weekend with 17 youth and adult teams from Richland County participating in the event.

The event was organized by the youth involved in STAND throughout the County as well as the SHS Leo Club in order to provide healthy alternative activities for our areas youth and to engage our community in drug free events. In addition, more than 320 pounds of food were given as admission fees into the tournament to be donated to the Richland County Food bank.

STAND 4 YOUTH is involved with schools within Richland County helping to identify issues on bullying, underage drinking, drugs and tobacco and address those issues by promoting healthy positive lifestyles.

The Above the Influence Dodgeball tournament will be an annual event and if you would like to get involved in helping our youth please contact Melissa Dean @ 433-4097 or visit us on Face Book at STAND4YOUTH.

A special thank you to all those who volunteered their time to help make this event possible and to Law Enforcement for having a "celebrity" team and to all the community members who attended and supported the event.
