Parent Café: Active Parenting of Teens

This summer, the Parent Café will continue to hold sessions each month. The topics of discussion will come from the Active Parenting of Teens curriculum, which is for parents with tweens and teens ages 11-18.

Topics will include the teen brain and why teens do what they do, different styles of parenting your teens, cooperation and communication, gaining respect, teaching responsibility, discipline, and reducing the risks of your kids using alcohol and drugs and preventing violence.

The Parent Café offers a place for parents to ask questions from professionals as well as support from other parents who are dealing with the same issues. It is open to any family member who is interested in supporting the children in their lives. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and all others are welcome.

The class is for adults only, and unfortunately child care is not provided. Lunch will not be served, but please feel free to buy lunch at Panini’s and eat during the session. The class is free of charge. Dates for the Parent Café will be June 4th, July 2nd and August 6th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. upstairs at Panini’s Pizzeria at 102 N. Central Ave, Sidney. For more information, contact Nicole or Melissa at 406-433-4097.
