Cowboy singer/songwriter Bob Petermann will be strumming guitar and singing his special brand of authentic ranch-raised music, surrounded by the galloping horses and bucking bulls that reside within the paintings of western artist Trish Stevenson. This creative collaboration will be presented on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (CDT) at the James Memorial Art Center in Williston, North Dakota.
Bob, who hails from the remote area of Cedar Creek in Wibaux County, Montana, was raised in a family of musicians. It was his older brother Ernie who initially taught chords to the eager, eight year old at the time. Bob now runs the family ranch with his wife Kay, when he is not traveling the West performing at venues such as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. He has several recordings to his credit and has compiled a book of his poetry.
Trish, who lives near Savage, Montana, shows her paintings nationally with current exhibits in Connecticut, Idaho, Kentucky, Montana and at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame. She has been featured in Art Horse Magazine and Western Horseman and is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Blue Buffalo Artists and the Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies.
This is not the first time these two artists have created together. Years ago, after hearing Bob sing in Medora, North Dakota, Trish painted a night scene of the cowboy strumming by the campfire, soothing the cattle in the background. That image ended up on the cover of Bob’s CD called “Takin’ Up Slack”. Trish is currently working on a painting inspired by a new song Bob has written called, “Dance in the Round Corral”. That song will be included on Bob’s forthcoming CD, (due out in mid-summer) and Trish’s painting will be used for the cover.
