Bakken Brew Fest Donates to MonDak Heritage Center

The MonDak Heritage Center recently received a $5000 donation from the Bakken Brew Fest hosted by the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. Jenny Baker, Education and Outreach Coordinator for MDHC, is delighted with the gift, which will go towards children's programming. Plans are to use the money to purchase items on their "wish list" which includes pottery supplies, paints, beads and much, much more. "The list is huge," Baker said.

"This really changes things for us," Baker said. "We will be able to enhance our existing programs and do more free programs, without having to charge for supplies. We have been able to reduce costs on programs due to donations and extra funding, but this will help even more."

MDHC was just gifted a kiln as well and is now looking for pottery wheels. Baker is also busy writing grants to fund more activities.

The Center offers children's programming all year and also does outreach programs at the Lodge and Crestwood Inn.
