Petroleum Luncheon

The Montana Petroleum Association would like to invite the public to the Petroleum Industry Appreciation Luncheon Wednesday August 27 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Billings, MT. Alex Epstein will be speaking on his book The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels focusing on the benefits of the oil and gas industry.

"Regardless of what we think of oil, what we have to realize is that in our economy and our daily lives it plays an amazingly important role," said Epstein at a previous debate. "If we make something important to our lives more expensive and less available it's like a global pay-cut."

Ron Ness of the North Dakota Petroleum Council highly recommended Epstein after having him as a keynote speaker in 2013. Epstein is the founder of the Center for Industrial Progress as well as the author of the Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and Fossil Fuels Improve the Planet. He is also a regular columnist at Forbes.com and has been published in the Wall Street Journal and San Francisco Chronicle. Epstein has been featured in the Rolling Stone and National Review and has spoken at many colleges including Stanford, Duke, Rice, and UCLA. He has also gone head to head on environmental issues with Greenpeace, Sierra Club, and 350.org.

Epstein speaks frankly and respectfully of the quality of life fossil fuels provide to society in terms of everyday essentials and conveniences, the medical and technological advances that have ensued because of the industrial revolution, and the economic benefits of having inexpensive and reliable fuel.

"Alex Epstein communicates in a way that has seldom been done before by personalizing the contributions of the oil and gas industry," says Jessica Sena, communications advisor with the Montana Petroleum Association.

Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased by August 21 by calling Bobbie at 406-442-7582 or filling out the registration form online at montanapetroleum.org and e-mailing it to [email protected].
