The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to add a left-turn lane to the intersection of MT 16 and Marshall Street in Crane, MT. at reference post 41.8.  The project limits will be established based on the geometry necessary for the development of the left-turn lane.

Proposed work includes roadway widening for the left-turn lane, milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, installing rumble strips and finishing with a seal & cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement markings and signage.

The project will be scheduled for construction on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.

New right-of-way and relocation of utilities may be required.  If new right-of-way and/or relocation of utilities are necessary, MDT staff will contact all affected landowners prior to doing survey work on their land.  Staff will again contact landowners prior to construction regarding property acquisition and temporary construction permits.
