McKenzie County Food Pantry Helping Those in Need

Shelf stable foods such as canned fruits and vegetables, toiletries, boxed meals and backpack food items are in high demand this holiday season.

Since 2010 the McKenzie County Food Pantry has seen the number of families needing assistance climb. The number of households served this year has more than doubled since last year.

The Backpack Program was started last year to provide kid-friendly, shelf stable food for children to take home from school and eat over the weekend.  The purpose of the program is to provide food for children when there are no other means to.  The program serves elementary children in Alexander and Watford City.
