Nominate an Outstanding Volunteer

Deadline Approaching for Public to Submit Nominations

Helena, MT- The Governor’s Office of Community Service and the Montana Commission on Community Service are accepting nominations for the 2015 ServeMontana Awards. Nominations are due December 5, 2014.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service is asking the public to thank the volunteers and organizations that make a difference across the state. Montanans are truly committed to service and take time out of their busy schedules to volunteer each day and in a variety of ways. This commitment to service deserves recognition.

“The ServeMontana Awards represent a strong ethic of service and sense of community involvement instilled in Montanans,” said Governor Steve Bullock. “I encourage you to nominate the organizations and individuals, who through their dedication to community service, go above and beyond to help their neighbors in need.”

Presented in February, these annual awards recognize outstanding Montana individuals, organizations, and National Service members committed to community and volunteer service.

The public is encouraged to nominate individuals of all ages and backgrounds, organizations, businesses, and groups. All services must be performed in Montana or by Montanans.

The nomination form is available at serve.mt.gov

Award winners will be selected by a committee of members from the Governor’s Montana Commission on Community Service and recognized during a public ceremony at the Montana State Capitol in February 2015.

The ServeMontana Awards are for service and volunteer work in the areas of education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, veterans & military families, economic opportunity, disaster services, emergency preparedness, and emergency response.

All nominations for the 2015 awards must be submitted to the Governor’s Office of Community Service by December 5, 2014.

The Governor-appointed Montana Commission on Community Service was created in 1993 to renew the ethic of civic responsibility in the state and to encourage citizens, regardless of age and income, to engage in service.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service expands and promotes national service and volunteerism in Montana and engages citizens in service and emergency preparedness.
