MDT Proposes An Overlay Project For Highway 16 Near Froid, MT

Roosevelt County, Froid - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to overlay about 7.5 miles of Highway 16, north and south of Froid, MT., in Roosevelt County. The project begins south of Froid and just north of county road 2044, at reference post (RP) 81.4 and extends north for 7.5 miles ending near county road 2051, reference post 73.8. Proposed work includes applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal & cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement marking, and signage. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the highway and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing highway. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2015, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
