Johanna Bunn was recently welcomed as the new Family Consumer Sciences Agent and is looking forward to her new position as well as having Sidney as her new home. Originally from Missoula, MT, Bunn graduated from MSU Bozeman December 13, 2014 and interviewed for the FCS position in November after her aunt alerted her to the online job listing. Bunn, who has a degree in Consumer Sciences, was ecstatic with the opportunity saying that she has always liked the community. She has been familiar with the Sidney area for the last three years.
"I thought it would be a good change and a good job," said Bunn of her relocation and new career.
Bunn's first day on the job was Monday, February 2 and she is looking forward to being involved in the community. Her position allows her to be involved with other organizations in town such as the Nutrition Coalition and Farmers Market to name just a couple. She is available to answer questions regarding health, nutrition, financing and life-planning and can be reached at 406-433-1206 extension 2004.
"I'm slowly entering into the Sidney community and additional programs and I'm always available for any needed information," Bunn said.
Upcoming events on her agenda include a Farmers Market meeting at the end of the month to begin organizing participants for the upcoming season and Ask the Expert which will be held at Reynolds Market on March 12 at 9:00 am, providing coffee and discussion with the Nutritionist and Dietitian for anyone interested. March is also Healthy Nutrition Month and there will be a table at Reynolds Market taking healthy snack donations for the Boys and Girls Club.
Bunn is pleased with the area she now calls home, adding that she enjoys the good food and all the sunshine she missed out on in the mountains. She encourages anyone with questions to contact her, as she is dedicated to being helpful and informative in her new position and as a new member of the Sidney community.
