Nationally Recognized Speaker To Present At 7th Annual Richland County Conference

Sidney, MT – Nationally recognized professional speaker, Karen McNenny, to present at the community Conference at the St. Matthew's Parish Center in Sidney, MT on March 19 and 20.

There are two opportunities to participate and learn more about the community development projects in Richland County. Thursday evening, March 19 5:00-7:30 and Friday all day, March 20, 8:00-4:00.

The Community Engagement Rally will take place on Thursday, March 19. An open house will begin at 5:00. There will be information stations highlighting what the community action teams have accomplished recently. Participants can chat with individuals, groups and organizations that are supporting change and progress in our community. Appetizers will be served. McNenny will present an inspiring and educational Key Note address titled: Community is the CURE.

The Community Planning Forum will take place on Friday, March 20, 8-4:00. The County Commissioners will address the community about past successes and future ideas on how to sustain Richland County as a vibrant, safe and viable community, even in the face of change. McNenny will facilitate round table discussions around the topics of Health, Education, Recreation and Safety. These small group discussions will lead to action in the areas of strategic concern based on the above assessment and lead to the development of action groups (networks) to develop and implement plans as well as evaluate the results. This work is started at Friday's meeting and continued through out the year using the steering committee to keep the momentum going, provide an opportunity for networking between action groups and clearinghouse for action group results.

Richland County will host opportunities to see McNenny speak at the 7th Annual Richland County Conference. McNenny will also act as facilitator as community members gather to discuss current changes and ideas for improvement. Karen McNenny is a Montana native and the founder of Made You Think Consulting. She works throughout the country as a professional speaker, group facilitator and business coach. Before starting her own business, she worked as a master trainer & facilitator for the largest healthcare system in the Northwest. Prior to that, she enjoyed several years as the Program Director for Camp Make-A-Dream, a medically supervised retreat center for youth and adults diagnosed with cancer.

Karen's areas of expertise include employee engagement, leadership development, and transforming workplace culture. Her clients have included: Department of Public Health and Human Services, Montana Department of Labor, Spokane International Airport, and Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson. She is skilled at developing high-functioning, healthy work environments through establishing a service-focused and employee-centered culture.

Karen has had a diverse career path stretching from the stage to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. She earned a B.A. in Media and Theater Arts from Montana State University where she also studied business marketing. As a Rotary International Scholar, she did her graduate work in the field of Integrative Art Therapy & Group Facilitation at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. Growing her knowledge base through attending professional conferences and continuing education classes - including training with the Disney Institute, The Studer Group, Baptist Hospital Leadership Institute, Kauffman Foundation for Entrepreneurs, and the Center for Ethical Leadership - keeps Karen's presentations current, fresh, and dynamic.
