Public Meeting To Focus On Needs Of People With Disabilities

The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) announced today a public meeting focusing on the needs of people with disabilities is scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2015 from 3 to 4:15 p.m. via videoconference in nine Montana cities.

The meeting is sponsored by the Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services Program and the Statewide Independent Living Council.

“The purpose of the forum allows people with disabilities to share their comments and suggestions regarding the vocational rehabilitation and independent living services provided by the state,” said DPHHS Vocational Rehabilitation program manager Mike Hermanson. “The comments help both programs evaluate their services in an effort to best meet the needs of their consumers.” 

The program is particularly interested in ideas related to:

·What needs to be done to assist Montanans with disabilities get and keep employment?

·What barriers are there to getting effective services from the Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services Program or Independent Living ?

·What groups of Montanans with disabilities aren’t served adequately by the Vocational Rehabilitation And Blind Services Program Or Independent Living

 

The meeting will be held simultaneously at the nine video conference sites:
