Medical Benefit Planned For JJ Durham

Charitable giving, community fellowship and awesomeness collide into one event Saturday, July 25 at the Ranger Lounge and Casino in Sidney.

A medical benefit and unofficial Chive Nation meetup has been organized to support Jeffery James (JJ) Durham. JJ has been diagnosed with Berger's Disease and is currently on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.

The committee couldn't be happier with the support the businesses and community members have offered in conjunction with the benefit. Auctioneer Dan Goss says, "It's always a great feeling to know that we live in a community that never hesitates to lend a hand to help others in their time of need. Time and again the people and businesses of the area have stepped up to help others and never ask anything in return. We live in a great community."

Chairman Scott Sult agrees, "It always amazes me that such a small community can come together and be so generous when someone is in need. The last few years our community has endured more than our fair share of hardships, but yet we continue to grow stronger and become more united. In my mind there is no better place in the world to be from than here."

The benefit kicks off at 5 p.m. when the doors open where the public can view and bid on items in the silent auction. A free will donation roast beef dinner catered and donated by the Ranger will start at 6 p.m. with a live auction taking center stage at 7:30 p.m. A DJ will close out the night with music. To round out the evening and preserve memories, Jennifer See of Life as I See It Photography will be taking pictures.

Organizers state just a few of the auction items that will be available include a Henry Big Boy .357, Kimber Raptor II .45, Mathews Z2 Bow, Kimber 22-250 rifle, Power Wheels Mustang, Camille Clausen Photography Session with print credit, artwork, gift certificates and a variety of baskets and other items.

As part of the benefit, raffle tickets for a Limited Edition (#14 of 25) Richland County Centennial Henry Golden Boy 22 are also available to purchase at The Ranger Lounge, High Caliber Sports, Temple Tattoo and Doug's Barber Shop. The drawing for the rifle will be held following the live auction.

Sult invites the community to the benefit, "We hope to see everyone on the night of the 25th to help out our good friend. We will have a little something for everyone in the family so please come on out, have some fun and help support a good cause."
