Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network Offers Training

The NWS Glasgow will soon be presenting an online winter training for CoCoRaHS to anyone interested in either a refresher or to those interested in becoming a new CoCoRaHS weather observer for northeast Montana. If you are available, I invite you to attend the training to learn more about the program, but below is a brief overview for those who would be new observers.

CoCoRaHS stands for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network. Not only do CoCoRaHS observations assist meteorologists at the National Weather Service with warning decisions and verification processes but the information is used by teachers and educators, those with agricultural interests, mosquito control, and by many, many other people. This program is an incredible opportunity for motivated individuals with interest in weather & science to make a real difference for countless people and industries. At the training, you will learn more about CoCoRaHS and how to take weather observations with a focus on winter weather. In addition, there will be several chances for observers to be opportunistic in learning more about weather and science through videos, presentations, and other activities over time.
