Library Hosts Its Annual Gingerbread House Contest

Would you like a chance to win some extra cash for the holidays? All ages can show off their baking and decorating talents during the library’s annual gingerbread house contest. Chamber bucks will be awarded in the following categories:

People’s Choice: $50

Most Creative: $50

Child: $20 (1st Prize), $10 (2nd Prize)

Youth Ages 9-14: $20 (1st Prize), $10 (2nd Prize)

Teen/Adult: 15 years and up: $20 (1st Prize), $10 (2nd Prize)

Family/Group: $20 (1st Prize), $10 (2nd Prize)

Voting for “People’s Choice” and “Most Creative” begins on Dec. 16 via Facebook, and by paper ballot in the library. The winners in all categories will be announced on Mon., Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.

Participants can bake their own gingerbread or use a pre-packaged kit. All materials for the gingerbread house must be edible. All candies must be unwrapped and free of inedible materials such as lollypop sticks. The base of the house may not measure more than 18” x 18”. Please label your entry with your name, address, and phone number on the underside of the base.
