Pointillism Artist at the MonDak

Artist Pat Schermerhorn employs an unusual technique to portray her subjects. It is called pointillism, which means simply that the artist uses hundreds of small dots of color to render her paintings. She normally uses pen and colored inks, but also works with pencils, scratchboard, pastels and acrylics.

Her subjects vary but lean to the area she is lives in, surrounded by wildlife, horses, western people and places.

She has participated in many national shows, including the CM Russell Auction in Great Falls, MT the Roughrider show and sale in Williston, ND, The Western Heritage show in Great Falls, Mt, Western Spirit Museum show in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Women Artists of the West shows around the country. She has done Quick Draws at most of these shows.

Pat is one of the founding members of the Blue Buffalo Artists and the Cody Art Show in the Historic Irma Hotel. She has lived in Cody, Wyoming since 2003, moving to Wyoming from 25 years in Heart River Country of North Dakota.

Pat's work is included in the Blue Buffalo Artists exhibit at the MonDak Heritage Center now through February 13, 2016.
