Roosevelt Medical Center's Lost Penny Days Raises Over $1,500

The results are in! A total of $760.00 was raised through this year’s Lost Penny Days and the school that raised the most pennies was Bainville School. Together, their student body raised a total of $304.93.

Froid School came in second, raising $262.04 and Culbertson School raised a total of $193.88. The traveling plaque will be delivered to Bainville School where it will stay for the next year.

This year, Sionix Oilfield Solutions of Culbertson, offered to match the amount raised by the schools for a total of $1,521.17 raised from the project.

All of the money will be used to create a more home-like atmosphere for the residents in the Alzheimer’s Unit. This year, RMC plans to replace the old curtains with modern blinds and spruce up the walls with new pictures and room décor that creates a calm and comfortable feeling.

“I think the competition is a great way for youth to work towards the collective goal of helping ensure quality healthcare remains in our area. It’s a fun, visual and hands-on way for youth to experience first-hand, the value of philanthropy in our community,” said Audrey Stromberg, Administrator for RMC.

In previous years, funds raised through Lost Penny Days have gone toward the Sun Room window project, supplies for the Activities Department for reminiscence activities through music, and crafts as well exercise equipment to assist residents with range of motion activities for flexibility, balance, and strength and endurance development.

“We are so grateful to the schools for their willingness to take time out of their busy curriculum schedule to get their students excited about this project every year. The success of Lost Penny Days is only possible because of their continual dedication year after year,” said Jaimee Green, Marketing and Foundation Director for RMC.
