Watford City Celebrates Graduation

The first senior class to have classes in Watford City's beautiful new high school graduated in the facility's gym on May 29.The class featured 67 graduates.

Ricki Lindley and Asha Smith provided the student address.

Lindley instructed the upcoming senior class, "Don't follow our footsteps," noting that some teachers and parents couldn't go through those challenges again.

Smith thanked friends, parents and school staff members for their support.

"The class of 2016 didn't only have an impact in the town but also on ourselves," Smith said.

Lindley noted endings occur but that doesn't mean those having influences on the students' lives will be changed.

"Just because we're leaving, and that hurts, they will always be with us," Lindley said.

Smith added the graduates' journey didn't end but has only just begun.

The ceremony included each of the honored students being spotlighted by announcing their grade point averages and activities.

Gregory Kleppen provided the invocation and Karissa Monsen gave the benediction.
