Foundation For Community Care Helps Cultivate The Next Generation Of Givers

Stop by the Foundation for Community Care on Fridays from 2–3 p.m. and support their Foundation Friday Lemonade Stand. Approximately twenty kids have volunteered their time to work at the lemonade stand this summer, with all money raised going into the Endowment Fund.

The inspiration came when families started reaching out to them, looking for ways to get their kids involved. The lemonade stand is a fun way for kids to give their time without getting anything in return.

"It's important to cultivate philanthropy from a young age," said Executive Director Gina Heckey. "We want kids to think about the Foundation for Community Care as a fun place where they can give back to their community."

The kids work in pairs or groups, and just two Fridays in, they have already received a lot of support. The Foundation Friday Lemonade Stand will also be at the 23rd Annual Benefit Golf Tournament, August 27.

The Foundation for Community Care would like to thank all the kids who are selling lemonade this year, as well as A-Z Construction who supplied all of the lemonade and cups.

"We want this to be the first of many cool opportunities kids will have to get involved with giving back," added Heather Cotter, Community Engagement Coordinator.

Kids will be selling lemonade July 22 and 29, and August 12, and 19 so be sure to stop by and get a cold drink during these hot summer days.
