Hansen Arrested for Murder of Klein

The Richland County Sheriff's Office received a call from a Franz Construction employee at about 9:01 AM, Wednesday 8/24/16 that a co-worker needed medical attention near a job site close to a breeched irrigation canal south of Sidney. Upon arrival by Emergency Medical Service and law enforcement, it was determined that the person needing medical attention was the victim of a criminal act. The victim was identified as Terry Klein age 63, from Sidney, MT. Klein died at the scene from injuries that he had received. Initial investigation indicates the he suffered at least one gunshot wound, cause of death is still undetermined pending results from the State Medical Examiner. The exact cause or manner of death is still under investigation.

Authorities determined a person of interest during the Wednesday morning investigation and placed in custody a 35 year old Sidney man on charges of deliberate homicide at about 10:52 AM. The motive of the alleged attack is still under investigation and it is believed at this time that the suspect acted alone.

On August 25, 2016 Raymond Blair Hansen, 35 years of age, was given a preliminary hearing in Richland County Justice Court on charges of deliberate homicide. He was bound over to the Seventh Judicial District Court in Sidney, MT, with bond set at $2 million.

Sheriff Dynneson, on behalf of the Richland County Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Richland County, gives sympathies to the family and friends of Terry Klein.
