The Parade of Trees Lights Up Another Season of Giving

Break out the tinsel, twinkle lights, and tree toppers all in the spirit of giving! That’s right, the 2016 Parade of Trees is on display, with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County’s Back a Kid Fund, and supporting the mission of the MonDak Heritage Center.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals have donated decorated Christmas trees and wreaths to be auctioned off at 6:00pm on Saturday, Nov. 26th as part of the Sidney Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Stroll.

This is the 14th year the Parade of Trees has been a fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County, and the second year it will be held at the MonDak Heritage Center, 120 3rd Ave SE in Sidney. The Parade of Trees began in 2006 as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County and the Family Resource Center, having raised thousands of dollars for the participating organizations.

Trees are on display now through Nov. 26. Purchased trees can be picked up Dec. 6 – 9 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Anyone needing special considerations for picking up trees and wreaths can contact Leann Pelvit at the MonDak Heritage Center at 406-433-3500.

Be sure to cat your vote for Best of Show, People’s Choice, Most Creative, and Best Wreath while taking in the beautifully displayed donations; winners will be announced just before the auction on the 26th.

The club will be decorating a tree that will display hand-made ornaments representing different aspects of the new building; those ornaments will be available for purchase, with those specific funds being put towards the new building project.
