Caregivers Encouraged to Attend Workshop

Has caring for a loved one become stressful for you? Caregiving is rewarding, but let’s face it: caregiving is not easy—physically, emotionally and financially.

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is a class designed to provide you, the family caregiver, with the skills you need to take care of yourself.

Classes will be held on Thursdays, January 5 to February 9, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm CT at the NDSU Extension Service/McKenzie County Office Meeting Room (office is located in the County Building behind the Courthouse) at 205 6th Street NW in Watford City.

How will the “tools” benefit you? This series will help you in the following ways:

• Reduce stress

• Improve self-confidence

• Balance your life

• Better communicate your feelings

• Increase ability to make tough decisions

• Learn to locate helpful resources

Here is what a past participant has said about this workshop:

“After taking this class, I am a more confident caregiver! Having tools to resolve problems is a definite advantage in becoming a better caregiver and a happier, wiser, healthier me.”

When you take care of yourself, everyone benefits.

Pre-registration is requested prior to attending this series. Please contact the McKenzie County NDSU Extension Service at 701-444-3451 or email [email protected] by Tuesday, January 3. Cost to attend is $35, which includes “the Caregiver Handbook” and snacks at meetings.
