West Side Elementary School Holds "I Love to Read" Month Assembly

West Side Elementary held an assembly on Feb. 28 to honor their "I Love to Read" month award winners. This year's theme was "Snow" Many Books. The top readers in each grade were Madycen Sanders (41) - 1st grade, Josh Pollari (56.8) - 2nd grade and Stetson Armes (40.05) - 3rd grade. The overall top reader for West Side Elementary was 3rd grader Oliver Slade with 147 points.

Slade's favorite book is Eragon by Christopher Paolini, who is from Montana and wrote it as a young teenager. It was a New York Times Best Seller and was later made into a movie. Slade has his own blog titled Oliver's Awesome Reading Blog at
