Summer Hours For Fort Union

Fort Union Trading Post is currently open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time. On Monday, May 29, Fort Union will begin its summer hours. Summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time. These hours will be in effect from Memorial Day to the end of Labor Day on September 4, 2017.

Fort Union’s Trade House will be open during the summer and feature on-site living history interpreters who will share the park’s history. Special events are scheduled for the summer as well, so stop in at the visitor’s center to get the latest updates on these events or visit our website at http://www.nps.gov/fous and our Fort Union Trading Post Facebook page. There is no admission fee to visit or tour the site.

Fort Union Trading Post is located 24 miles north of Sidney, Montana and 25 miles southwest of Williston, North Dakota, on Highway 1804. While visiting, everyone is encouraged to tour the reconstructed fort, trade room, and bourgeois house. For those interested in hiking, the one-mile Bodmer Trail located north of the fort leads visitors to scenic overlook from which one can see the historic fort, the Missouri and Yellowstone Rivers’ Confluence, and the Snowden Bridge.
