The construction of the Roundabout at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highways 200/23 south of Sidney is in progress.
The construction of the detour is nearing completion and is anticipated to be operational by the end of this week:
• Anticipate delays of up to 15 to 20 minutes on Wednesday, August 30 when paving operations cross existing Highway 16 and Highway 200.
• Existing Highway 16 will be reduced to one lane each direction starting Wednesday, August 30.
• There will be elevated bumps across existing Highway 16 and 200 prior to opening the detour to traffic. Anticipate one to two days for this transition time.
• As a reminder, the detour will be one lane of traffic in each direction.
Construction of the roundabout will be going throughout the remaining 2017 construction season and commence again in the spring of 2018.
The detour will stay in use throughout the winter.
