The Tiger Sharks took a total of 45 competitors to Lewistown to compete for State. Despite many of them swimming their best times not all of them made it to Sunday. As in all individual team sports you can only ask your athletes to give it their best, and personal bests at State are a great way to end the season. The overall team did not place as high as I wanted them to, but we are in a rebuilding year and are looking for more swimmers especially in the older boy age range. We hope to partner with other sports such as Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling to help keep our athletes in shape for the fall programs. Swimming is such a healthy way to stay fit, and for competitive personalities there is nothing like the rush of competing against yourself and the swimmer in the next lane. This year we say goodbye to 3 senior swimmers. Ben Brodhead, Torey Dahl, and Connor Fink. They will be greatly missed for their knowledge, leadership, and fun they brought to the team. As the warmth of the sun begins to fade, the smell of chlorine quits lingering and the Sharks begin their way back to the classrooms, I hope they each walk away knowing they swam with their heart and not to be discouraged for we will come back stronger than ever next year.
