Montana Department of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project on Roadway Segments in Sidney

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about 0.7 miles of urban roadway in Sidney.

The project includes four segments of roadway, as follows:

1) 5th Street between 7th Avenue Southeast and 9th Avenue Southeast,

2) Lincoln Avenue between West Holly Street and 4th Street Southwest,

3) 9th Avenue Southwest between 5th Street Southwest and 7th Street Southwest, and

4) 14th Street Southwest between 9th Avenue Southwest and South Central Avenue.

Proposed work includes milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, installing Americans With Disabilities Act ramps and reapplication of pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to extend the existing pavement life and reduce maintenance costs.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2018 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
