J'z Fashions and Coffee House completed its expansion into the former Saddle Up building next door just in time for the holiday season, and the store has been bustling with customers eager to see the new space and all the exciting new merchandise. There's ample room to browse in this tastefully designed store, with delightful surprises waiting at every turn.

In addition to their fantastic fashions and footwear, J'z Fashions added western wear, infant and children's wear, and home décor. Levis for the entire family, Wranglers, Dockers, cowboy hats and plus sizes are just some of the exciting new offerings. "We've kept the fantastic lines we had and added more while readjusting to current times. We want to offer lower cost, good quality clothing for our customers," owner Julie Smelser stated. "If people would like to see additional brands, they just need to ask. We'll try our best to get what they want."

Home décor items include linens in all price ranges, florals, Stonewall Kitchens rubs and spices, and much, much more. The fantastic designs of Billie Jo Morken of Watford City decorate the store. "A Touch of Earth" includes unique jewelry, capes and rustic furniture inlaid with stones, conches, cowhide and more. "She blings up items with her unique style," explained Smelser.

The new Indianola Gourmet Flavored Pecans and Nuts have been flying out the door since they first came in. "We offer a sugar free chocolate pecan; we invite everyone to stop in and try it. We have to show people the box to prove it's sugar free, it's that good! J'z is pleased to offer this taste of the Old South," Smelser said. These yummy treats will make a great Valentine, Fathers Day, or any other 'day' gift.

A "rejuvenation station" features a relaxing spa atmosphere, offering PAR AVION TEA, which is sold in spas only and not only creates incredible teas with powerful antioxidants, but also has face cleanser, body moisturizers and bath soaks.

Also included in the rejuvenation station is the popular Kangan water which helps with multiple health issues. Kangan water hydrates the body, cleanses the body, or the home, is a powerful anti-oxidant, and helps remove acid waste from the body. "People bring in their jugs to fill with Kangan water. We have very happy customers, and we use it for our coffee and teas as well," Smelser explained.

Try out Bemer, a physical vascular therapy device which promotes micro circulation "For you, for life, for energy", with Danielle Rambur as sales rep. Customers can stop in daily to get their blood flowing and enjoy better overall health, all in a private, relaxing setting.

Stop by for your favorite beverage at the coffee bar featuring City Brew coffees and delightful teas. After the first of the year, watch for soups, hot sandwiches and desserts. "The coffee bar is open as long as our doors are open," employee Stacie Roddy emphasized.

Expanding the store was not an easy decision. "Bret and I thought about it for a long time," Smelser said. "We've survived the worst and believe we can provide shoppers with what they need. It's good to keep Sidney competitive and keep people happy with shopping in their home town."

Smelser credits her staff with carrying the store through the recent economic downturn. "Stacie Roddy is amazing and offers fantastic customer service. She truly goes out of her way to please," Smelser said. Roddy said she and her husband moved to Sidney because they love it here, and want to stay. She's excited about all the new changes to the store. "We want to have something for everybody in all price ranges. And, if you need a baby gift on Saturday for a shower on Sunday, we'll have it."

Renee Torgerson has been with J'z Fashions since the beginning, doing the accounting and filling in part time as needed. Kay Balducke also works part time. "She's very good, " Smelser said. "She knows the customers and is very helpful." Since the expansion, J'z Fashions has added Pam Hansen, Mariah Miller, Sam Berglund and Carmen Latka to the staff.

"We're very excited about providing more options in Sidney. People want to keep their home town thriving. When stores close, the impact trickles down and affects everybody. We want to reverse the trend and provide a quality, affordable shopping experience," Smelser said. "We're also happy to recommend other businesses in town. It's all about the customer finding what they want in Sidney, no matter who gets the sale. It benefits all of us."
