RMC to Host ABC's of Youth Development

Is your child meeting all of their developmental milestones? Are they tilting their head and smiling back at you at six months? Are they responding to the word “no” at 12 months? Did you know that by the age of four your child should be able to stand on one foot for five seconds and follow three-step commands?

On Jan. 30, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Roosevelt Medical Center will host an hour long ABC’s of Child Development presentation at the Culbertson Town Hall. Karla Fink, a registered nurse and clinic director for RMC, will provide a brief presentation on youth development from birth to adolescents discussing physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and language development. There will also be a question and answer session.

“Not reaching milestones, or reaching them much later than other children could be a sign of a developmental delay. By knowing the signs and acting early, a parent can better ensure their child receives the help they need to get on track with where they should be in their developmental stages during those critical, early years,” said Fink.

A clinic representative will be available to provide information on immunization records and schedule well-child screenings.

Door prizes will be given away. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. The event is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.
