DEQ Meeting Re-scheduled For March 7

The buzz around Richland County lately has been the proposed Yellowstone Disposal Class II solid waste landfill facility. The project is proposed on the east side of the Yellowstone River, located on 650.7 acres of privately-owned property, approximately 4.5 miles southeast of Sidney, across the highway from the Thiel Subdivision.

Due to weather events, the Department of Environmental Quality public meeting has been re-scheduled to 5:30 p.m., March 7 at MonDak Heritage Center, 120 3rd Ave., S.E., Sidney, Montana.

DEQ has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed site. It can be viewed at: http://deq.mt.gov/public/ea/WasteMgt. Comments must be submitted by March 16, to DEQ Solid Waste Section, PO Box 200901, Helena, MT or emailed to: [email protected].
