Emotional Wellness, Monday, April 2, 12-12:30 p.m. at Richland County Health Department. Emotional wellness is a keystone of public health. Strong communities consider and care about the emotional wellness of members. This talk will discuss past, current, and future efforts to address emotional wellness needs in Richland County. The talk will also feature information on community resources. Presenter, Judith LaPan, MS, MBA, Administrator.

Rabies Management, Tuesday, April 3, 12-12:30 p.m. at Richland County Health Department. Join us to separate the facts and the myths of rabies and rabies reporting in Richland County. Can I get rabies from mice? Will I have to put my dog down? How much will this cost? Clear the air about rabies reporting and animal quarantine procedures as outlined in Chapter 4 of the Richland County Health Code. Presenter: Stephanie Ler, RS, MPH, Environmental Health Director.

Environmental Health, Wednesday, April 4, 12-12:30 p.m. at Richland County Health Department. Learn more about the Trails and Parks Subcommittee’s current and proposed community projects; the county-wide environmental health assessment that will be completed in 2018 and how that information will be used by local officials and action groups; and the key roles that the Richland County Environmental Health Office plays within the public health system. Injury Prevention & Friend of Public Health Awards Ceremony, Thursday, April 5, 12-1 p.m. at Richland County Health Department. In Richland County, too many injuries happen when safety takes the back seat. Learn more about preventing injuries and the efforts of the DUI Taskforce and others. Worksite Wellness, Friday, April 6, 12-12:30 p.m. at Richland County Health Department. The majority of adults spend approximately 36 percent of their total waking hours at work. Since we do spend a lot of time at work, it is important to work in an environment that supports and encourages good health. Learn how to improve the physical, emotional, mental and occupational well being of your employees. Healthy employees make healthy companies!
