Kick Off Spring With Scootfest and Biker's Ball

May signifies a lot of different things for our area; the start of the growing season, anticipation for summer break, cleaning and de-cluttering our homes, and more importantly riding season! This years riding season will be kicking off with a new event to our area; the Lower Yellowstone Chapter of Montana ABATE’s Scootfest and Biker’s Ball.

This year Sidney has been chosen for the venue at the Richland County Event Center. Motorcycles can be registered Friday night between 5-9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 8-11 a.m. with all bike styles welcome. The bike show registration fee is $25.

The Scootfest starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m., May 5 with a $5 entry fee. In addition to looking at all the cool and different motorcycles, there will be several vendors on site with merchandise, food and drinks available.

Between 4-5 p.m. ABATE will be giving away 2 bicycles, one boy and one girl bike, a pocket bike and numerous door prizes to lucky show goers. A raffle featuring another pocket bike will also be held, with tickets available at Scootfest or before from a Scootfest committee member.

Bike show entrants will be registered and split into six categories, with the winners receiving a trophy made from motorcycle parts, hand created by the Sidney High School Ag Department under the supervision of Mr. Ted Fulgham. Another contribution from the high school is the poster logo, created by Sidney High School Art Club member Brianna Brost, overseen by art teacher Ms. Penny Filler.

At the conclusion of all the great prizes and giveaways and awards, Lower Yellowstone ABATE chapter invites you to ride your bike (or drive your car) on a short poker run (weather permitting). After the poker run, get ready to rock the rest of the evening to “The Culprits” from 8 p.m.-12 a.m., with a full bar provided by the Waterhole #3. There will be a $5 entry fee for the dance.

So please make plans to stop out at the Lower Yellowstone Chapter of Montana ABATE Scootfest on May 5 to look at some cool bikes, eat some great food and dance the night away.
