Sidney Health Center Successfully Recruits Physician Couple

Sidney, MontanaSidney Health Center is pleased to announce the successful recruit of John E. Carey, MD, FACS and Jennifer Adams, MD. Dr. Carey is a general surgeon and Dr. Adams is a radiologist. The couple recently relocated to Montana from South Carolina with their family of three children.

"We are thrilled to have Drs. Carey and Adams join our care team," stated Jennifer Doty, Sidney Health Center CEO. "They are quickly adapting to Montana and will be a great addition to the medical staff. Both are excited to get involved in the community and expand the services offered at Sidney Health Center."

Dr. Carey, who is American Board Certified in General Surgery, will be providing general surgery services to the residents living in the MonDak region. Through his career, he has transitioned from traditional open procedures to minimally invasive techniques including advanced laparoscopy and has taught medical gross anatomy at various levels.

Dr. Carey received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg, SC and completed his residency at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, SC. Dr. Carey has 25 years of experience in general surgery, practicing in South Carolina.

Dr. Carey is located in the Sidney Health Center General Surgery Clinic, Suite 105, joining Dr. Edward Bergin and Dr. Kelly O'Neal. The majority of his practice is dedicated to providing minimally invasive surgical approaches to general, endocrine and breast surgery.

His wife, Dr. Adams is American Board Certified in Radiology and joins Dr. Leszek Jaszczak in providing diagnostic services through the imaging department at Sidney Health Center. As a breast cancer survivor, Dr. Adams has a special interest in breast health and assisting those with a new diagnosis of breast cancer. She continues to provide diagnostic services for all areas of the body through MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and 3D Tomosynthesis.

Dr. Adams received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her residency in radiology at the Medical College of Georgia. She has worked in South Carolina throughout her career and provided contracted services through her own corporation since 2010.

Personal interests of the couple include several outdoor activities including motorcycle riding, bicycling, swimming, hunting, fishing and anything that involves spending quality time with their three children. Other family activities include coaching youth basketball as well as attending sporting events including swimming, soccer and baseball.

Growing up in an agriculture community, Dr. Carey is anxious to learn more about the farming and ranching industry in the MonDak region.
