XTO Makes Donation for Much Needed Equipment at McKenzie County Healthcare Systems

XTO Energy donated $50,000 for an urgent care room and $10,000 for a defibrillator at McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, Watford City, on Aug. 29.

"We are thrilled to receive the $50,000 for this urgent care room," stated Patsy Levang, McKenzie County Healthcare Systems Board Chair. The money is enough for the equipment in the room and provides supplies for several months. The urgent care room is of vital importance to the triage area in the emergency wing of the hospital.

XTO also donated $10,000 to add another defibrillator to the hospital's healthcare equipment. "This donation will provide better service to patients and expand our equipment base," said Sam Perry, Practice Administrator at McKenzie County Healthcare Systems. "Everyone should be excited for this defibrillator. One day you may be the one who might need it." A defibrillator greatly increases the chances of survival for patients experiencing cardiac arrest.

XTO has been providing assistance to McKenzie County Healthcare Systems since they began the capital campaign to raise money for construction of their new healthcare facility. In 2014 they identified a need and contributed ventilators for the facility. McKenzie County Healthcare Systems opened its new location at 709 4th Ave. NE, Watford City in June 2018.

"It's important for XTO to make these donations," said Matthew Deveau, operations manager for XTO. "Because it's the place we work and it's of value to us and the community." XTO remains active in providing assistance to communities in the Bakken throughout the year. They key in on two main areas; healthcare and emergency services and education. In addition to monetary support, XTO employees also volunteer for emergency management and fire fighting duties throughout the area.

XTO Energy is involved in virtually all areas of the energy industry in the Bakken from exploration and drilling to refining and chemicals. Their Bakken main office is in Williston with additional locations in Watford City, Alexander, Tioga and Killdeer in North Dakota and Sidney in Montana.
