Williston Seeks Volunteers for Citywide Cleanup Sept. 29

The City of Williston is calling on families, friends, co-workers and colleagues to help clean up Williston on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The citywide cleanup will be headquartered in the parking lot at Davidson Park and Aafedt Stadium. Visit the park between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to pick up free cleanup supplies, dispose of recyclable items and enjoy free food and drinks. This fall there will be roll-offs for scrap metal, cardboard and used residential tires (limit four tires per household.)

Clean Up Williston is held two times per year to promote community spirit and pride. JMAC Resources, West Dakota Water and IHD Environmental have been loyal supporters of past campaigns and they look forward to the fall cleanup. A company official says the projects help newcomers take ownership in the community’s appearance.

“Many of our employees are from cities across the US,” said Judy Billehus, JMAC HR/Marketing Manager. “The cleanup events are a satisfying way for them to give back to Williston, a community which has provided many opportunities for our employees and their families.”

Volunteers are encouraged to register for a CleanUp Zone online. The zone map is available on the City of Williston website or visit http://www.cityofwilliston.com/news_detail_T18_R60.php. Volunteers who register for a specific zone will be expected to pick up trash in the designated area on or before Sept. 29.

The city appreciates all of the hard work volunteers give to make Williston a welcoming place to live and visit.

“Williston has evolved into a beautiful city because of companies like JMAC Resources,” said Billehus. “With their commitment, Williston will continue to be a special, unique city for so many to call HOME!”

The cleanup is organized by the City of Williston and supported by local businesses such as.JMAC Resources. If your business, organization or family would like to become a sponsor, or to learn more about the project, contact Patty Fiorenza or Jim Haga Jr. at 701-577-6368.
