Bid Awarded for Intake Project

The U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers announced on its website that the contract to build the new fish bypass and concrete weir at Intake has been awarded to Ames Construction headquartered in Minnesota for just under $35 million. No start date has been determined for the project.

Lower Yellowstone Irrigation Project will begin a major project this fall to rebuild a giant lateral delivery canal which was damaged by erosion from the Missouri River. The project near Dore involves reconstructing the 4800’ canal about 1000 feet south of the existing one, and building it as high as 10’ in places. The project will take place as long as allowed this fall, and be completed in the spring.
